KNOX JUBILEE CELEBRATION 1960-2010

2010 is an exciting time – a “Golden Anniversary” for our Knox family.

We have come a LONG way since September, 1960, with 200 worshipers gathered in Elmwood Elementary School. Many exciting and fun events have been planned for the year which culminated in a Sunday Service and Jubilee luncheon feast on September 12 to remember the past with thanksgiving and look to the future with hope.

The Jubilee committee has planned something for everyone at Knox to get involved in this year. As you read through the planned events, we know you will find a way that you can participate or volunteer to help.

Merchandise Committee

Are you looking for that special gift to give to someone for Confirmation, Graduation, Anniversary, or just to celebrate 50 years for Knox?  The Merchandise Committee has the following available through the church office during normal working hours:

• Jubilee Sterling Silver Crosses ($45) and chains (18 inches $10) or (22 inches $15)
• Jubilee Stained Glass Notecards ($5) per package of 10 cards
• Gold Crosses (no chains) will soon be available again for $60
• If you did not pick up your free Jubilee Wall Clock (one per family)
   

Confirmation Pictures Needed!

Thank you to everyone who has turned in photos for us.  There are several years that we do not have. Check your photos!

We are still in need of the following:
1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1976, and 1977. Look through your children's photos and grandchildren's photos and see if you have any of these years. We will scan the photo and get the picture right back to you.

Great Give Back

Knox presented an honorary check to Mayor George Pradel for $500,000 which is equivalent to 25,000 hours of volunteer work by the members of Knox young and old. We actually had accumulated 45,000 hours by the day of the celebration. Thank you for your “giving” spirit.
