Where are you?
Our church is located approximately 2 miles south of downtown Naperville. We are one block west of the intersection of Washington Street and Gartner Road, just west of the Naperville Plaza Shopping Center which houses Trader Joe’s, Casey’s and Colonial Restaurant. Click here to see a detailed map of the area.
The church is ADA accessible with a temporary handicapped ramp at the main entrance on Catalpa Lane. On Sunday mornings the spaces along the curb on Catalpa Lane as well as the spaces in the Basswood Lane lot are reserved for Seniors and Handicapped. There is lots of parking available diagonally across Gartner in the Mid-America Bank lot. The lot on Gartner Road will be closed during our church renovation project.
What should I expect when I visit?
We invite all persons to join us in worship, spiritual development and Christian fellowship. We offer several different worship services, each with its own style. Our 9 a.m. service is traditional, featuring a chancel choir. Our blended service is at 10:30 a.m., blending traditional and more contemporary music styles.
How should I dress?
Traditional “church clothes” are the norm for those who attend our 9 a.m. traditional service, while our 10:30 a.m. dress code is more casual.
Will I be asked for money?
We do take an offering during our worship services. This supports the work of the church, both inside the physical building and out in the world. This support is the responsibility of our members. As our guest, you have no obligation to give.
What do you have for kids?
Childcare for children through Pre-K is provided on Sunday mornings during our worship services. We offer Sunday school for 5 year olds through 8th graders at 9 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Children of Sunday school age begin the worship service in the sanctuary with their families and are dismissed to Sunday school after a special “Children’s Message” about 10 minutes into the service.
How do you handle Communion?
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month at all services as well as at special services throughout the year. At Knox we practice open communion and welcome to the table all who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Baptized children of believers may partake of the elements at the discretion of their parents.
What if I have not been to church before?
There is nothing special you will need to know to attend a worship service. We usually have a time when we shake hands and great one another, we sing together, pray (silently) and receive communion once a month (usually on the first Sunday of the month).
